Life hack: how to remove lipstick from clothes using home remedies
A lot of practical advice and life hacks can be found on the Internet. Some of them are downright absurd and even funny. And, others may well take their rightful place in your treasury of worldly wisdom. I admit honestly, I was always wary of folk and grandmother’s methods - I preferred professional stain removers.
But, you must admit, this is not cheap if you buy a quality product, and it is not safe, especially when it comes to children’s and delicate things. And so, quite by accident, I found a way to remove lipstick from clothes.
Surely, each of us has had such a problem, and what to do if you are outside the city at the dacha, and there are no household chemicals at hand.
Today I decided to check whether ordinary lemon and baking soda can really cope with a greasy lipstick stain. I won’t lie, I didn’t fully believe in the success of the operation.
So, to try out this life hack in action, we will need the following components:
I take the stained T-shirt and lightly wet the stain. A spray bottle or a regular new dishwashing sponge works well for this.
Next, I sprinkle the stain with regular baking soda. I think there will be no problems with this component - it can be found in any kitchen. By the way, as an option, the note said that instead of soda, citric acid would be fine.
Then I squeezed a couple drops of lemon juice. Soda reacts with citric acid, resulting in the formation of abundant foam. And that’s it – I forgot about the T-shirt for 1 hour.
Next, I wash the T-shirt in warm water using my usual detergent and dry it.
I am satisfied with the result of the wash: the stain was completely washed off, no greasy stains formed, the T-shirt “came back” to life.
Now I will confidently use this method and recommend it to my family, friends and relatives.
