How to clean long-term carbon deposits without caustic chemicals
Regardless of the material from which the dishes are made, long-term carbon deposits are removed using the same method, the only difference is the effort applied and the duration of the cleaning process. It is easiest to put aluminum cookware in order; it is somewhat more difficult to do this with stainless steel products, and you will have to work hard on cast iron cauldrons or frying pans, since they, as a rule, are quite rough in their bottom part.
How to clean dishes made of different metals with many years of carbon deposits
Pour 3 liters of warm water into a fairly large saucepan and rub 2/3 of a full bar of 72 percent laundry soap into it. You can also use liquid soap if available. Then add 6 tablespoons of soda ash and 250 ml of transparent stationery glue, which is also called liquid glass. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until they are completely dissolved in warm water.
In the resulting aqueous solution with cleaning agents, we place the dishes made from different materials to be freed from carbon deposits, taking into account their dimensions, that is, we place the largest container at the beginning, put the middle one into it, and at the end the smallest one.
Place a pan with water and a set of dishes to be cleaned on the gas stove burner and heat over low heat for about 60 minutes. Over such a period of time, the deposit swells, becomes somewhat spongy, softens, and it becomes possible to remove it without a lot of physical effort and time.
Long-term stains from aluminum cookware can be easily removed with a regular foam sponge and a washcloth under running tap water. To do this, just spend a few minutes and the aluminum cookware will look like new after cleaning.
To remove carbon deposits from stainless steel cookware, you will need, in addition to a foam sponge, a knife and steel wool. To completely remove layers from such dishes it will take up to 30 minutes of intensive work. As a result, stainless steel dishes will also look elegant and please the eye.
You will have to tinker a lot with a cast iron cauldron. Dirt from above and inside can be easily removed using ordinary means: a sponge and a washcloth, and this will only take a few minutes. You will have to work on the bottom part with a kitchen knife, then with a steel wool and finally with a foam sponge under a stream from a water tap. But in the end, we also get clean dishes that will delight us and our loved ones.
