An original gift for the Eighth of March

International Women's Day is approaching and there is not much time left to purchase unique gifts! Mothers, grandmothers, teachers, girlfriends or simply work colleagues should not become “victims” of indifference on this day. It is better to prepare for upcoming congratulations in advance so as not to forget and not lose sight. And you can please all the women around you on March 8th with gifts of your own making. It is not only profitable, but also exciting.
Do present you can do it yourself in just one day. Such a soft figure eight will look very original and symbolic.

Both relatives and colleagues will positively perceive such an unusual gift, and to make it you will need a minimum amount of materials:
• “cheerful” chintz fabric (preferably polka dots);
• green fabric of any texture;
• padding polyester;
• yellow knitting yarn;
• thread and needle;
• universal polymer glue.

First, draw a number on a piece of paper.

Then we cut out the shape without cutting it inside.Next, we trace this solid sketch along the contour on the fabric folded in half and cut it out (only the edges of the base should be fixed with needles so that the second side does not move out when cutting out).


Be sure to leave seam allowance!

Two blanks (located with the front side inward) are sewn together along the outlined line using a reverse stitch. A small slot is left at the bottom to turn the product inside out and fill it with padding polyester.



Now is the time to work on the interior outlines. We place the cut out paper parts on the fabric prototype of the figure eight and carefully mark the “cutting” places.


We cut the inner area in half horizontally and vertically, obtaining 4 triangles (identical in pairs) from a solid figure.

We fold two triangles (one on the back wall, the other on the front) inward and sew the “merging” area of ​​the sides.

So we gradually move towards the center until we completely sew up the entire hole. Now the finished “compartment” needs to be filled with padding polyester.

We process the bottom circle in the same way, after which we fill it with padding polyester.

We sew up the slit along the edge and start decorating.


Cut out 10-12 leaves from green fabric (they should be shaped like a dandelion leaf).


Then we glue the foliage onto the number with polymer glue.



From yellow yarn we cut 30-40 strips of 5-7 cm each and tie them tightly in the center.



We fold the knitted bundle again and wrap it with thread again.



In this simple way you can get completely natural dandelions.

Glue the flowers onto the foliage and give them time to dry.

When the glue has completely hardened, the soft souvenir can be placed vertically.

This gift looks very interesting, and the rich and bright colors create a truly spring mood.
