How to make a self-ejector for a car from a regular disk
When your car wheels slip in mud or snow, it is extremely difficult to get out of off-road conditions. In such cases, a winch comes to the rescue, but there is also a cheaper homemade device. The cost of its production is almost negligible, and its practical benefits are invaluable. If necessary, the device can be quickly installed and removed. Let's consider the process of its manufacture for a car with stamped wheels.
The self-puller works on the principle of a reel that wraps a rope around itself, the end of which is attached to a tree trunk, pole or stake driven into the ground. When the rope is twisted, the car is pulled out of the impassable section of the road. The manufacture of such a reel must begin with assembling the spool. You can use any wheel rim as this, the main thing is that it is smaller than the rims on the car.
For ease of marking the workpiece and its further fitting, you need to remove the wheel or take out the spare tire. A disk is applied to it and adjusted coaxially.Marks are made on it opposite the wheel holes.
To these marks you need to weld L-shaped hooks, bent from any sufficiently thick round steel. It is important that with their help it is possible to engage the modified disk and wheel through its holes.
It is enough to make a hook through one hole. In order not to make a mistake, it is better to first grab the pins, try them on in place, and if everything is smooth, then completely scald them.
The device is ready.
But since it will constantly fiddle around in a clean trunk, it is better to paint it.
If you get stuck in a puddle, rut, sand or snow, just hook the spool onto the drive wheel disk. A strong rope is inserted into its hole under the nipple of the camera, and its end is tied in a knot so that the rope does not come out again.
The free edge of the rope must be tied to a tree, and if there is none, then a stake must be driven into the ground.
Then, when the gear is engaged, the wheel will begin to rotate and reel in the rope. As a result, the car will pull itself out of the impassable area.
While moving, you should try not to rotate the steering wheel so that the rope does not come off the spool, otherwise it will quickly rub against its edge. This device is simply ideal for a front-wheel drive car or all-terrain vehicle. For rear-wheel drive vehicles, it will help you drive backwards. When using it with a stake, you need to act carefully. It must be long and strong so as not to break out under load and fly into the windshield.
Materials:
- rim;
- steel round timber d10-12 mm;
- strong rope or rope 20-30 m.
