Useful accessory for a car

If you like to take care of your car yourself, then you often have a question: how to reach the roof? How to properly wipe or wash it.
Thanks to a simple device, the manufacture of which is described below, you can reach any meta on the roof of your car at any time without any problems.
If you want to wash your car efficiently, want to put your luggage, want to check the condition or damage - nothing is simpler.

Will need

The following were prepared in advance:

• 2 rectangles 50x100 mm cut from a sheet of steel 5 mm thick.
  
• 2 isosceles angles with a side width of 30 mm, made of 3 mm steel.
  
• Rectangle 70x20 mm, thickness 3 mm.
  
• Metal hook.

Making a device for a car

We take two steel plates and weld them together.

Next, we weld a thin 70x20 mm plate perpendicular to the resulting plate. We weld the corners that will serve to strengthen the structure with stiffeners.

Then we weld the hook.

The device is almost ready.


We sand all seams and sharp surfaces, removing burrs and smoothing out sharp edges.
Using a grinder, we make shallow cuts on one side.

We paint with spray paint. We put a piping made of PVC cable braid along the contour.

Using the device at work

If you need to climb onto the roof, you take the device and insert it with a hook into the eye of the stationary part of the door lock.


That's it, now the convenient step is ready. All you have to do is stand on it and you will be able to perfectly reach any place on the roof of your car.
