10 useful vinegar-based life hacks
Vinegar is available in every home. It is used as a seasoning, pickling agent, etc. But without exaggeration, this cheap and widely available liquid can be called universal. It can be successfully used for cleaning, healing, caring for yourself, animals and plants.
Clearing a clogged sink
To unclog a kitchen drain, add approximately equal amounts of table vinegar and baking soda.
As a result, a violent reaction will begin between them and its products will quickly destroy the blockage. When the process is over, be sure to rinse the drain with hot water.
Removing sticker marks and any dirt
If a sticker or tape has left a mark on the wall or furniture, then we’ll treat the area with water and vinegar from a spray bottle, let it interact with the dirt for a few seconds, and then quickly wipe the area to be cleaned with paper napkins.
Removing unpleasant odors from trash containers
If the garbage container emits an unpleasant odor, then soak a piece of bread in vinegar and put it in it overnight. The bread and vinegar will absorb all the unpleasant odor molecules like a sponge. In the morning there will be no smell.
Substitute for expensive detergents
We replace them with one universal detergent, which we make ourselves. To do this, fill 1/3 of the spray bottle with vinegar, 2/3 with water and add a few drops of liquid soap. Shake the contents of the spray bottle thoroughly and the universal, inexpensive, safe and effective cleaner is ready.
Getting rid of midges
If fruit flies appear in the kitchen, they can easily be lured into a trap from which they can no longer escape. To do this, pour apple cider vinegar into a bowl, cover with cling film and poke a number of holes in it with a knife. The midges, sensing the smell of apple cider vinegar, will penetrate under the film and will not get out from under it.
Vinegar as an iron substitute
To smooth out wrinkled clothes, fill a spray bottle ⅓ full with vinegar and the rest with water. Stir the contents and apply it to clothes. After a few minutes of hanging freely on the hanger, it will become like after ironing with a hot iron.
Weaning a cat off furniture
If a cat has chosen a certain place on upholstered furniture for the point of its claws, then it is enough to treat it with vinegar from a spray bottle, and it will no longer come to this place.
Extending the life of a bouquet with color
To do this, add a little fruit vinegar to the water in the vase, mix, and the flowers will remain much longer, as if they had just been picked.
Keeping your glasses lenses clean
To ensure that your glasses always look clean and transparent, without stains from greasy fingers, moisten them with white vinegar and immediately wipe them with a dry soft cloth.
Removing carbon stains on dishes
If there are stains that are difficult to wash off on a saucepan or frying pan, then put it on the fire, pour in an equal volume of white vinegar and water, and let this mixture simmer for about five minutes.
After which the dishes become like new!
