How to unscrew an angle grinder without problems if the disc is jammed and broken. Advice from an experienced locksmith

When working with a thin cutting disc, a situation may occur where it breaks at high speeds. As a result, the nut on the spindle is clamped so tightly that it is impossible to unscrew it without breaking something. Let's look at a way to get out of the situation.
What you will need:
- pliers;
- hammer;
- thin screwdriver;
- penetrating lubricant such as WD-40.
The process of unwinding a jammed disk
The abrasive part of the broken disc must be broken off with pliers. Then the task is to remove its debris between the nuts on the spindle, leaving only the metal ring.

This can be done quickly. The grinder starts up, and at speed the clamped scraps are knocked out against the edge of the shovel. The disadvantage of this method is damage to the shovel and nuts.

A more gentle method is to remove debris by knocking it out with a thin screwdriver or a piece of sheet steel. They are used as a chisel and driven between the nuts with a hammer. So, piece by piece, you can remove all the abrasive in 10-20 minutes.

As soon as the remains of the disk have been removed, penetrating lubricant is poured between the nuts.

You need to lightly tap on them so that it flows into all the pores.

After this, the nuts can already be loosened using a standard wrench.
