How to restore faded plastic car parts quickly and free of charge

Unpainted exterior plastic parts of a car become faded over time from exposure to ultraviolet radiation and precipitation. This makes the car, even with relatively fresh paint, not look very good, to put it mildly. The fading of plastic can be easily and quickly removed, and for free.

What you will need:

• water;
  
• sponge;
  
• napkins;
  
• detergent;
  
• installation hairdryer.

Faded plastic should be wetted and rinsed well with detergent, wiped dry and, to be safe, degreased with alcohol or solvent.


Next, you should wait a couple of minutes for all the moisture to completely evaporate.

Then a hairdryer is taken and the part is heated in a circular motion in a row, but without delays in one place.

Plastic tends to recover when exposed to strong heat, so the fading will disappear right before your eyes.


While working, you should try not to point the hairdryer at the glass and mirrors so that they do not crack from the hot stream, and also not to overheat the paint.
