How to easily repair a burnt-out glass heating filament
One of the rear window heating filaments may burn out. In this case, part of the heating grid stops working. Damage to the thread can be repaired, after which it can warm up again. This is possible even if the glass is tinted with film.

Heating filament repair process
It is necessary to inspect the non-working thread along its entire length and determine the location of the break. The top is wiped with solvent.
Insulating tape is glued along the length of the thread at the break point at the top and bottom.
Then, along the thread between the strips of electrical tape, the section of glass is sanded with sandpaper.
After cleaning, the surface is degreased again and conductive glue is applied to it 10 mm in each direction from the break. After a day, you need to cut the glue along the length of the electrical tape at the top and bottom, then tear it off.
If the glass is tinted with film, then the sequence of actions changes slightly. The first step is to place a ruler along the thread and cut the film along it on top and bottom of the heating strip.
Then, at the site of damage, the film is cut across longitudinal notches. After this, you can tear it up, spread the petals to the side and cut them off. From the outside it will remain invisible. Next, everything is glued with electrical tape in the usual way.
How to make conductive glue
If you can’t find conductive glue for repairs, you can make it yourself. To do this, you need to rub graphite dust from the lead of a simple pencil on sandpaper.
A couple of drops of ordinary universal or superglue are added to it, after which it is applied to the glass.
Graphite is a conductor, so it can transmit voltage through the heating filament.
