How to return yellowed plastic to its original whiteness
In any home you can find many previously white plastic surfaces that have turned yellow over time. This could be a cover on the refrigerator, a window sill, a remote control, the housing of the indoor air conditioner unit, etc. Such yellowness cannot be washed out with detergents, but there is a way to completely remove it almost without effort.
What you will need:
- Oxidizing cream 12% for hair lightening;
- Brush;
- Transparent plastic bag.
Plastic bleaching process
To bleach, apply a 12% hair lightening cream oxidizer to the yellowed plastic surface.
This is done with a brush.
It is better to work with gloves, as the composition is quite aggressive. After this, we cover the product with polyethylene and place it in sunlight. The composition requires ultraviolet light and heat to work.
After a few hours, you can apply the composition again to enhance the whitening.
The yellowed product is exposed to ultraviolet light, covered with a hydrogen peroxide-based illuminator, until it becomes completely white again. This is not a quick process, which may take more than a day, but the result will be 100% positive.
