Photo frame made from old buttons
Everyone probably has a lot of old buttons at home, and in this article we will tell you exactly what they are for. To make the frame itself we will need:
• Cardboard or very thick paper;
• Glue (preferably instant);
• Pencil;
• Ruler. For decoration you will need:
• Buttons (a lot and different sizes);
• Thermal gun;
• Paints.
First you need to come up with the shape of your frame. Then, having decided on the shape and its dimensions, you need to draw it on thick paper. We cut it out and trace this same shape on two different cardboards. Let's cut them out. However, you need to remember that if you need to cut out a place for a photo in the first cardboard, then you shouldn’t do this in the second, because from this piece we will make the back wall of our frame, which should not have holes. We glue all the parts together, not forgetting to leave some space so that later you can insert a photo (or photos, depending on the shape of your frame) and you can consider that the main part of preparing the frame is finished.
Now let's move on to decoration.For greater convenience, you should first paint the entire frame, so if you cover up the white gaps at the end (as was done in the photographs), it may not turn out very neatly. Then we start gluing the buttons. It is better to glue large buttons as the first layer, which will serve as the background of your frame. Then glue less. And at the end, as finishing touches, you can add many small ones that will help make your frame more colorful and interesting. Of course, choose the color yourself. To make the frame look more interesting, you should choose different buttons with a variety of decor. If you left painting the frame for later, then just after gluing the buttons you can begin this, painting over all the gaps with the color of your choice. The last step will be creating the legs. True, if you want it not to stand, but to hang on the wall, then you can simply glue several satin ribbons to it, giving them the appearance of a loop. The leg can be constructed as follows. Glue a right triangle from cardboard (or from several layers of thick paper, since the weight of the frame will fall on the leg, and with so many buttons it is not small) and glue the frame itself to the hypotenuse. Don't forget to paint it at the end. If the shape of the frame is the same as in the photo, do not forget to cut holes in the side that is the hypotenuse, otherwise your leg will be visible from the front, thereby spoiling the appearance of the frame. And perhaps at this point your frame can be considered done.
In the same way, you can decorate not only the frame, but also mirrors and other elements of your interior.
