Corrugated paper lotus flower
It would seem like corrugated paper, what can be made from it? After all, it is quite soft and quickly deteriorates from moisture. But no, from this paper it is possible to make many interesting and beautiful things.
For example, to make such a flower you will need:
Material:
- corrugated paper in two colors: green and orange.
- wire.
- a small piece of cotton wool.
- reinforced sewing threads.
Tools:
- scissors.
- tweezers.
Making a flower.
1 making petals.
From a single sheet of orange corrugated paper you should cut out rectangular pieces measuring 3x5.5 cm each. For this flower you will need 22 of them.
After this, you need to cut off the upper corners of each part, sharpening the middle.
But to make the core you will need to cut out another rectangle with sides 6x8 cm.
This element also needs to be trimmed slightly at the corners, but only just a little.
Next, you will need a piece of green corrugated paper with sides 7x10 cm.
Now the top long edge of this part needs to be cut with a zigzag line.
2 Assembling the flower.
First you need to make the middle of the flower.To do this, you need to take a wire and make a small ring at one end.
Then this wire should be placed in the middle of a large orange rectangle and a piece of cotton wool should be placed on top of the made ring.
Next you need to take the left rounded corner of the part, and stretching it in the middle, wrap it around the wire and cotton wool located there.
Now you should repeat the same action with the second corner.
Then, pressing the folds tightly, you need to carefully but firmly twist the bottom edge of the rectangle together.
You will get a small bud, which now needs to be secured by tying it at the base with regular sewing thread. Now all you have to do around this bud is gradually attach the prepared petals, pulling them together with thread. The main thing is to make sure that now the paper does not stretch and is distributed evenly over the entire circumference.
Next, wrap the prepared green rectangle around the base of the bud, covering the threads holding the flower together. In this position, it should also be tightly tightened with thread.
After this, from the remaining piece of green corrugated paper, you need to cut a straight, long strip with which you will wrap the stem of the flower.
Now all you have to do is carefully straighten the flower petals, stretching them at their widest point. Thus, the flower will acquire the required volume and shape.
