Bell made from newspaper tubes
This bell will be a wonderful gift for students and teachers. But it can also be a great decoration for your home. It is very easy to make.
For production we will need:
- newspaper or magazine.
- PVA glue.
- knitting needle.
- gold spray paint.
- white bow.
- universal glue "Titan".
Let's get to work. Take the magazine and cut it into strips measuring 45x10 cm.
Now we begin to twist the strip into a tube. Place it on the lower right corner and fold it tightly. When the entire strip is folded, coat the upper left corner with PVA glue.
This is the tube we got.
We immediately prepare as many tubes as possible so as not to interrupt the weaving of the bell by twisting the missing tubes.
We begin to weave a bell. To do this, take 6 tubes. And we stack them crosswise, 3 pieces at a time.
Let's take two tubes and connect them together. Then we bend it from just above the middle. These will be the working tubes with which we will weave a bell.
We take the working tube and place it on the cross of tubes. In such a way that the tubes are sandwiched between the working tubes.
Since the working tube has two ends, we roll the first one forward onto a row of tubes, and wrap the second one behind it.
Then we move to the third side of the cross and roll up the second tube and place it on top of the row, and place the first one on top of it.
We also cross the working tubes on the fourth side of the cross.
When we recorded all the sides of the cross, we had a base. And now that the base is ready, we begin to braid each tube separately. In the same way, crossing the tubes we braid each main one.
So we weave a full row.
We weave the next rows the same way, but we bend the main tubes so that the weaving turns out to be the correct shape, like a bell. We will get the shape of a voluminous oval.
We weave another 17 rows.
Gradually we move the ends of the main tubes so that the edges of the weaving are wider than the middle of the bell.
Now the main bell is ready. Weaving is finished.
Now we secure the ends of the main tubes. We weave them into the base.
Now let's start weaving the tongue for the bell. We take three tubes. We clamp the ends on one side and begin to weave.
We place the first tube on the second. Second to third. And the third to the first. So we continue to weave.
When we have woven a sufficient length of the tongue, we make a ball at the end of the chain. To do this, grind the remaining ends of the tubes onto the edge of the chain. And secure it with glue.
In the same way we weave the handle for the bell. But we use 4 straws. And we weave it into the base.
We also weave a tongue from the inside.
Now it's time to paint the bell. We take spray paint and paint the bell inside and out. Let the paint dry completely.
We tie a white bow to the handle of the bell. Our bell is ready.
Good luck to all.
