Oil painting “Breath of Autumn”
Painting the picture will take several days, because... Each working layer must have time to dry.
Necessary materials:
- brushes of different sizes,
- palette,
- paints,
- canvas,
- linseed oil.
Painting a picture
When you need to make the paints less thick, dilute them with oil. A solvent can be used for the same purposes.
1. Draw the sky using a mixture of blue and white tones. Paint over those areas that require darkening with the same group of colors with the addition of carbon black. The amount of dark paint added should be smaller than a match head.
2. Mark the border of the water on the canvas. Work in the light and dark areas in this area.
3. To paint the reflection from the trees, add a drop of mars brown dark to the blue.
4. Move to the tree area. The main colors for painting this area will be ocher, carbon black, mars brown and cadmium yellow. If necessary, add shades of green, in this case the color emerald green was mixed.
11.jpg Start by drawing the boundaries of the treetops, then fill the space with light and dark shades to create volume. At this stage, set aside the work and let the paints dry.
5. Apply dark red kraplak dotted onto the dry or almost dry layer. In the reflection area of the trees, add a few strokes of light ocher.
6. Work again on the dark and light areas of the water, creating smooth transitions. This effect can be achieved by “stretching” one color, moving to a layer of another.
7. Apply some white and yellow to the foliage. Make thin stripes where you want to highlight the shadows by adding dark mars brown.
8. Draw ducks.
The picture is ready.
