This master class will demonstrate step by step how to turn eggshells into a beautiful and unusual mosaic that can decorate your interior and attract admiring glances. Such work will give pleasure to all creative people and will captivate with its simplicity and ease.
For work we will need:
1) PVA glue;
2) acrylic or gouache paints;
3) shells from raw eggs;
4) cardboard;
5) paint brush;
6) a sharpened stick or toothpick;
7) black acrylic outline;
8) bugles and beads;
9) craquelure varnish and acrylic varnish if possible.
Progress:
1. Prepare the surface for work; to do this, prime the cardboard with white paint or acrylic primer.
2.Using a simple pencil, draw a sketch of a butterfly.
3.Draw the details in the wings of the butterfly.
4. We begin to paint the wings of the butterfly with orange acrylic paint.
5.Next, paint the wings of the butterfly yellow and dark green, as shown in the photo.
6. We finish decorating the wings using light green and purple colors.
7.Use black paint to decorate the body of the butterfly.
8.Using an acrylic outline, or in its absence, black acrylic paint, draw the outlines, thereby distinguishing the colors from each other.
Let's start with the mosaic:
9. Wash the eggshells, be sure to remove raw eggs, thoroughly - take out the white membrane film.
10. Use acrylic paint (purple, green, light green, yellow and blue) to paint the shell.
11.Crush the purple-painted shell into small pieces.
12.Using a toothpick and PVA glue, we begin to place the purple shell on the corresponding color segments.
13.Now lay out the light green shells.
14.Lastly, we lay out the mosaic on the wings of the butterfly using an ocher or yellow shell.
15.We will deliberately leave some segments on the butterfly’s wings (purple and dark green) without mosaic in order to visually show the texture of the work.
16.We make the main background of our work using yellow paint.
17.To create cracks and an aging effect, we will use a single-phase craquelure varnish, which must be applied to a well-dried layer of yellow paint, while placing the strokes vertically of our drawing.
As soon as the varnish has dried, but is still slightly sticky, apply blue acrylic paint on top, placing the strokes horizontally on the surface.
18.Using a contour or black acrylic paint, outline the body of the butterfly, draw legs and antennae.
19. Decorate the butterfly’s body with black glass beads and its head with round beads.
20.If desired, yellow shells can be glued in a chaotic order under the butterfly’s legs, and covered with blue paint on top.
Our mosaic is ready! This is how, by spending a little free time, you can get not only pleasure, but also a beautiful painting made using an unusual technique.We wish you creative inspiration!
