How to fix problems with powder flushing from a washing machine

All owners of washing machines notice that over time, some of the powder remains in a special compartment and is not completely washed off. This has a negative impact on the quality of washing - the recommended amount of detergent is reduced. At the same time, another problem appears - the time it takes to fill the washing machine with water increases significantly. You can find and eliminate the cause within a few minutes.

What to prepare

No special tools are required; all you need for the job are pliers, an old toothbrush and the desire to fix the washing machine yourself.

Solution

After finishing washing, open the powder tray. If there are residues at the bottom, it’s time to repair the unit.

To check, turn on the washing machine with the tray removed and see how hard the water is supplied to flush.

Keep in mind that during this test a lot of water will be spilled on the floor, so be prepared to clean it up.
Close the water supply tap to the machine, unscrew the hose, it is attached to the rear wall to the outlet of the pipe.

The nut is plastic and can be unscrewed by hand.

Unscrew it and take out the filter. Over time, it turns sour, you have to take it out with pliers, you don’t need to make a lot of effort, the plastic case may not withstand it.

Pull it towards you and constantly turn it in different directions.
Clean the mesh from dirt and place the filter in its previous place.

Screw on the flexible hose. Choose the position of the hose so that it can be easily connected to the water supply tap without sharp bends. Which direction it is directed at this time does not matter; there will be no independent filling of the machine. The water is closed by a valve, the device opens only from a signal from the control panel of the washing unit during washing.

The second filter is installed at the opposite end of the hose, unscrew that too and clean the mesh. Reassemble all connections and check the operation of the machine. Water must be supplied to the compartment under high pressure and completely wash away the washing powder into the tank.

After cleaning all the filters, we check the work: pour powder into the tray and turn on the machine to wash.

Everything washes off properly.

The high resistance of water in the hoses increases the load on the pump several times, which leads to its accelerated failure, and this is an expensive and complex repair. Don’t be lazy to periodically inspect the filters, do not allow breakdowns to occur, prevent them.
