3 useful ideas from a burnt-out incandescent lamp

Incandescent lamps have long since outlived their usefulness and are therefore hardly used anywhere. Most people have them lying around like unwanted junk in the closet. We suggest not throwing them away without use, but giving them a new service by making something useful for the home out of light bulbs.

Flower stand

Take a standard size incandescent lamp.

Using a screwdriver, wire cutters and pliers, remove the lower contact with the dark glass platform.

Use a screwdriver to crush the contents inside the lamp and pour everything out from the inside.

Be very careful when working with glass!
Next, take a gas burner and heat the top of the lamp.

Due to the high temperature, the flask itself will settle and flatten.

Let's wait for it to cool down. And pour water inside using a funnel.

A wonderful flower stand is ready!

Oil candle

We take the lamp. Just like in the example above, we get rid of all the contents inside it. Lubricate the base with glue.

Glue a wide washer.

Using a syringe, fill part of the flask with oil (refined sunflower). Insert the wick and light it.

The original oil candle is ready.

It does not smell and does not create soot.

Cool corkscrew

Pour as much as possible into the flask.

Then reheat in the oven at 100 degrees Celsius, or in boiling water.

As soon as the plastic melted, voids formed. Add more plastic and repeat heating.

We take a spiral from an old corkscrew and bend it at the end.

We insert it into a lamp with heated plastic.

We are waiting for the lag and hardening.

Once everything has cooled down, hold the lamp over the bucket and use pliers to break the flask.
