3 ways to sharpen a grater
Let's look at and check the three most common ways to sharpen the teeth of a grater with your own hands. I just have three equally blunt graters on which we will check everything and everything necessary for this.
Sharpening with sandpaper
We take fine sandpaper and begin to move it across the teeth of the grater from above.
After five minutes, check by trying to grate the tomato.
The teeth are definitely sharpened. It didn't take very long.
Sharpening a grater with a mug
This method of sharpening is available to every housewife, and sometimes, some definitely use it. Take the mug and turn it over.
Rub it with a grater on the bottom of the mug for a couple of minutes. Next, we check again about the tomato.
One gets the feeling that the grater has not been sharpened. Although the method is very fast and affordable.
File and knife
This method is the most labor-intensive. You will need a file and a knife.
We manually sharpen each tooth from the inside.
We straighten the crumpled teeth with a knife.
Let's check it on a tomato.
The result is excellent!
Result
The mug method is quick, but it is impossible to sharpen a grater properly with it. The sandpaper method is also relatively fast, but not as effective as the third method. The last method is incredibly long, but the result is appropriate - the grater is sharp, almost like new, and maybe even better.
Which sharpening technique to choose is up to you. In a dorm environment, sharpening with a mug is quite possible. Well, if you have time and a round needle file, then don’t be lazy, do everything right.
