Cleaning the electric kettle: the most environmentally friendly and affordable method
What is the best way to descale an electric kettle? Of course, most housewives will prefer non-chemical products. Although there is a completely alternative option, which is no worse, even in some cases noticeably better - this is cleaning with citric acid.
It will provide a gentle descaling method that will definitely not damage any kettle. And in most cases, it is much easier to find citric acid in the store than a descaling agent. Perhaps even cheaper!
1. The bottom of an electric kettle, in which water is heated daily, becomes covered with a red coating within a couple of weeks. These are salts that fall out of water when boiled.
2. To descale it, you only need one teaspoon (with the top) of citric acid.
3. Pour it into the kettle, fill it with water to the maximum permitted volume and set it to boil. Then leave for an hour or two for the water to cool. Drain and rinse well with running water.
4.The bottom is cleared!
Water with citric acid that was boiled in a kettle can not just be poured into the sink, but put to good use. For example, in order to clean mugs darkened by tea and coffee.
They should simply be soaked in this cooled, acidified water for a while, and then rinsed thoroughly.
The result is obvious!
