How to modify a gas burner for winter use
Anyone who has used a small-sized gas cylinder with a removable burner knows that if, say, it is left in the garage in the winter, then lighting a cold burner is problematic.
The flame does not light up in the central nozzle, but burns in a circle. The gas just comes out and doesn't burn.
This is due to the fact that the cylinders use summer gas, which changes its properties when the temperature drops below zero.
To start using the burner, the cylinder must be warmed to room temperature.
But there is one more simple modification that will save you from unnecessary fuss and help you easily operate the burner in winter without warming up.
Refinement of the gas burner
You need to take a piece of copper wire with a diameter of 0.3-0.6 mm. Wind it around the match and remove it from it. Next, stretch it a little and you should end up with a small spring or spiral.
Then it must be inserted into the burner nozzle and bent to the bottom.
The main thing is that it does not touch the piezo ignition electrodes, otherwise the ignition will not work.
Now let's light it and check it.
The flame ignited immediately. Now the cylinder can be left in the cold in winter and used when necessary.
This is useful advice that everyone can take into account.
