Plants grow right before our eyes from this waste fertilizer
For the active growth of any plants, micro and macroelements are necessary, which they can obtain in large quantities from compost. Since it is not possible to add dry fertilizer to the soil of an already planted plant, you can use it to make a liquid fertilizer for watering. To obtain it, you need to assemble a simple device from plastic buckets with lids.
Materials:
- 3 large plastic buckets with lids;
- ball valve;
- black paint.
Manufacturing process of a plant for the production of liquid biofertilizer
It is necessary to burn or drill small ventilation holes in a circle at the top rim of the three buckets. Two of them also have dense perforation of the bottom.
The third bucket with a whole bottom has a ball valve installed in the wall as low as possible.
Next you need to cut large windows in two covers. They fit over a bucket with a tap and one with a perforated bottom. Next, the parts are painted black so that the installation heats up well in the sun.
A small layer of sawdust or shavings is poured into a bucket with a perforated bottom; you can also add dry leaves and hay.Peelings of fruits, vegetables, leftover cereals, chopped ears of corn, and in general any plant organic matter are poured on top. It is important to alternate the layer of food scraps with shavings or leaves.
A partially or completely filled bucket is closed with a whole lid. It sits on top of an empty bucket with a tap and a cut-out lid.
As new food waste appears, it is placed in a third bucket with a perforated bottom. It is also necessary to alternate cleaning with sawdust or leaves. This bucket is placed on top of the already assembled structure. A cut lid is placed under it; the whole one should always be on top.
After about 30 days, it all depends on the temperature, a black liquid rich in micro and macroelements will accumulate in the lower bucket.
It is drained through the tap and diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10. This solution is used for watering plants.
At the end of summer, the dried compost accumulated inside the buckets is used to fertilize the beds. To increase the productivity of the installation, it can be assembled not from three, but from more buckets, but this is not always advisable. If you build high towers, then there is a risk of them overturning from the wind, and it is also difficult to lift additional modules.
