A 100% way to preserve cabbage until the next harvest in the cellar, basement, attic or balcony
Cabbage collected from the garden or purchased during the season at a normal price can last until the next harvest without any problems. To do this, you just need to properly prepare it for storage.
What you will need:
- towel;
- knife;
- cling film.
Preparing cabbage for storage
Only healthy heads of cabbage are selected for storage. If necessary, their top leaves are cut off or torn off.
After this, they are wiped with a towel to remove any drops and dirt there.
The prepared heads of cabbage are wrapped very tightly with cling film.
You need to wrap them in 3-4 layers to completely remove any gaps.
Packaged cabbage has a natural moisture content that it needs for storage. In the cold in the cellar or basement, it can easily last until spring. It can also be stored in the attic or on a glazed balcony if it is not frosty there.The cabbage should be spread out in one layer, and under no circumstances should it be piled on top of each other. To save space, it can be hung from the ceiling of a cellar or basement in packages one at a time.
