How to get out of deep snow or mud without assistance
Bad weather always prepares unpleasant surprises in the form of snow drifts or mud that are impassable for a car. You can get stuck in them even in a four-wheel drive vehicle. In order not to look for a tractor or tow truck, carry long towing slings with you, and you can always leave the problem area on your own.
What you will need:
- flexible cord 1 m;
- long towing strap.
The process of moving out of a snowdrift or mud
When slipping, you need to attach a sling to the wheel of the drive axle. She clings to a string tied across her. The line is then pulled exactly towards the center of the tread.
Once in the car, you need to engage the gear and make several revolutions of the wheel so that the strap is wound around it 1-2 times. Then its free end clings to a tree, pole or other anchor.
Now, when you try to drive, the strap will wrap around the wheel. Like a winch, it will pull the car out of the mud or snow. On a rear-wheel drive car, driving is only done in the opposite direction using reverse gear. It is very important that the wheels are aimed strictly at the line stretched to the anchor so that it does not break.
If the hook was made on the front wheel, then after leaving the problem area, it is enough to turn the steering wheel to the side and the sling folds to the side. All that remains is to untie the lace, and you can move on. When removing the strap from the rear wheel, you will have to tinker more.
