1. A simple trouble-free door latch
To make a latch you need 2 pieces of angle 80-100 mm long. They are folded together, and a groove for the bolt is sawed on one edge. Then a corner is cut off.
Next, the halves are drilled and countersunk for fastening. An additional hole is made on one of them for a bolt. The latter is made from a piece of strip. You need to fix it on one half with a rivet. Now the parts are screwed onto the door and frame, after which they can be closed.
2. Pipe cross clamp
To fasten two pipes together at right angles, you can remove the bracket from the threaded rod. Then we take a piece of strip and drill it under the edges of the bracket.
Now you can put the bracket on the tubes, and then tighten them with nuts through the strip plate. It turns out very durable and reliable.
3. Carrying for coffee glasses
To carry many cups of coffee without the risk of spilling it, you can make a simple carrier out of corrugated cardboard. We mark circles on it for the holes into which glasses will be inserted in the required quantity.
After this, draw a frame around the perimeter of the holes, as shown in the example. We retreat 15 mm inward from it and draw lines, leaving a gap in the center of the long sides of the resulting rectangle.
Using a sharp knife, cut out a hole for the glasses. Then the frame itself is cut out. Thus, we get a carrier with handles.
4. Connection of cables
You can fasten the cable sections by folding them overlapping and putting a piece of tube on top. The latter must be crushed with a hammer or vice. It will crimp the cable, preventing it from disconnecting.
5. How to unscrew a self-tapping screw with a damaged head
If the head of the screw is damaged and the screwdriver does not grab it, you can make a notch on it with a drill. Then you can unscrew the screw with a flat-head screwdriver.
6. Parallel pipe fastening
To fasten several pipes in parallel, you can bend the pin, making it into a bracket. It is put on the pipes, and then they are compressed with nuts through a strip plate.
7. How to install a curved bit on a flat-head screwdriver
If you have a short screwdriver bit that cannot be reached into a hard-to-reach place, then saw it lengthwise from the back. Place a regular flat-head screwdriver into the cut and secure the whole thing with heat shrink.
This way you can get a long shaped screwdriver.
8. Can opener with ring
It happens that the ring of a tin can is so rigid that it is impossible to pry it with your finger to rip off the lid. In this case, a homemade opener will help.We take a small lath and drive a nail into its end half the length. You need to unhook its cap by making a hook at the end, which is finished with sandpaper.
Then we drill the rail across, not far from the nail, and screw the handle bolt into the hole. As a result, we get a tool that can be used to hook the ring on the jar to rip off the lid.
