How to make eternal water-repellent impregnation for wood, fabric, leather
To protect absorbent surfaces from water, waterproofing impregnations are used. These are quite expensive compounds, and besides, they cannot be found in every hardware or construction store. In order not to overpay for waterproofing and not look for it all over the city, you can make it yourself from available components.
Impregnation composition:
- wax 2 hours;
- turpentine 1 hour;
- linseed oil 1 tsp.
The process of preparing impregnation for waterproofing
You need to melt 2 parts of beeswax.
When it melts, remove the container from the heat. Then 1 part of oil and turpentine is poured into it.
You need to pour the wax in a thin stream, constantly stirring it. The mixture should be homogeneous.
After cooling, it will thicken, but will be quite soft.
The resulting mastic is applied to the surface with a cloth.
You need to rub it evenly and then heat it with a hairdryer so that it melts and is absorbed.
By impregnating wood, leather or natural fabric with this waterproofing, you can also improve their color and make it more saturated. In the future, water falling on the treated surfaces will simply drain away without stopping.
