How to get rid of mold in your home and prevent its occurrence forever
If mold has appeared in the house, then even after complete removal it can return, since the conditions for its development remain in the room. Let's look at how you can inexpensively destroy it and prevent relapse. To do this, you need a comprehensive solution for insulation and ventilation.
What you will need:
- respirator;
- a specialized mold killer, bleach or vinegar;
- liquid waterproofing;
- window valve ventilator.
The process of dealing with mold in the house
The first step is to get rid of mold on the walls. It is required to knock down the areas that it has captured with a hammer drill. Where this is not possible, professional chemistry is used. You can also apply bleach or vinegar. All work is performed in a respirator.
After removing and destroying the mold with chemicals, 2 layers of waterproofing are applied. Then finishing is done. Before finishing work, the walls must be dried.
Next, you need to eliminate the cause of high humidity in the room. Often the walls simply freeze.If this is the case, then you will need to make external insulation with stone wool.
It will allow the walls to breathe, that is, the already accumulated excess moisture from the inside can gradually come out.
The final stage is the establishment of a ventilation system. Poor air exchange is the main cause of excess humidity. Typically, ventilation problems occur after installing plastic windows, since they do not provide an influx of fresh air. As a result, moisture does not escape into the hood. You can install a recuperator, which is expensive, but in most cases window ventilators will help.
They are valves that are placed at the top of the windows. Ventilators allow air to flow through them in a measured manner, allowing moisture to escape through the hood. They can only be installed on openable sashes. To do this, the upper seal is cut off to the width of the valve. The rubber band opposite on the window frame is also removed.
Instead, a narrow seal from the ventilator kit is installed. After this, the valve strip is glued with self-adhesive tape and screwed with the self-tapping screws from the kit.
Then the window closes. At the top of the leaf is the visible part of the valve. By adjusting the position of its valve, you can change the flow of incoming air, thereby adjusting the optimal ventilation intensity to prevent excess humidity.
