What to do if dripping down the tap stem of the heating radiator
A common problem with a half-turn valve without a clamping nut, usually installed on heating radiators, is leakage along the stem. This type of problem can be quickly corrected. The proposed repair method allows you to solve the problem for a long time, and not just urgently stop the leak.

sealing gum or fume tape;

The rotary handle or flag is removed from the tap. Then the diameter of the rod is measured. A sealing rubber is selected for it. It can be removed from a broken crane axle box.
Next, you need to select a nut a size larger than the diameter of the rod. In this case it is 10.5 mm, and the nut is M12. It needs to be chamfered from the inside on one side. This is done with a large drill.
An elastic band is put on the rod, a nut chamfered down, a washer, and then everything is tightened with a standard screw, which was used to fasten the removed flag. If you squeeze it, the rubber gasket will stop the leak.
The second option for repairing a leak from under the stem of a polypropylene tap
Instead of an elastic band, you can wrap fumlenta around the rod.
Then everything is clamped in the same way.
You can tighten the screw with force without fear, it will not tear out the rod.
