How to make a glowing knife handle from epoxy and wood
Even the best blade will not become a good knife without a comfortable handle. To make it fit perfectly in your hand, it is better to make it yourself using your own hands. If you are tired of classic wooden handles and want something unusual, then you will like this idea.

The process of making a luminous handle
First you need to cast a blank for the handle from resin. To do this, epoxy is mixed with a hardener. Ideally, mix it twice, the second time in a new, clean container. This will eliminate the presence of unmixed components near the walls and bottom of the container. Fluorescent pigment powder is added to the resin and mixed again. The epoxy is then poured into the mold, which is placed in a container of cold water to prevent the resin from boiling as a result of the chemical reaction. After the resin has hardened, you need to cut the part into 2 pieces. A hole for the shank is drilled in the center. In one it is through, in the second it is deaf. You also need to make a handle part from wood with a through hole. To assemble the handle, you need to install a bolster on the shank of the knife. Then a blank made from resin, wood and again from epoxy is glued, but with a blind hole. For this, a two-component glue is used, tinted with pigment for contrast. After the glue has dried, the handle must be sanded to obtain the desired shape. The final touch is to impregnate the wooden insert with linseed oil. This handle glows in the dark, so it’s impossible to lose sight of the knife. It will always be at hand.Watch the video
