5 Ways to Use Old Toothbrushes
Old toothbrushes are often put aside so that, if necessary, they can be used to clean jewelry, stains on wallpaper, etc. The scope of their use is not limited to this. There are many more options for using old brushes.
1. Brush for hard to reach places
You need to heat the neck of the brush with a lighter and bend it with the bristles outward at a right angle.
The resulting tool is perfect for cleaning the bottom of deep glasses. It will easily dissolve dried dirt that is impossible to reach with your fingers.
This brush can also be used to reach hard-to-reach places.
2. Sink under the toilet rim
If you heat the neck of the brush in the same way, but bend it in the other direction, you will get a convenient tool for cleaning under the rim of the toilet bowl.
Often it’s not possible to get there with anything else, so the modification is worthwhile.
3. Forceps
The bristles of two brushes are torn off with pliers.
Then they are pulled together from the edge of the handles with an elastic band.
After this, a folded napkin is placed between the brushes in front of it.
The result is comfortable tongs. They can be used as tweezers or for peeling nuts.
4. Brush for drill
It is necessary to screw a self-tapping screw into the head of the brush from the bristles side and cut off the handle. Then the tip of the screw protruding on the reverse side is used as a shank to clamp the resulting equipment into the drill.
This small, stiff brush does a great job of cleaning the grout between tiles. You can use toothpaste as a cleaning agent.
5. Washing combs
You can use an old toothbrush to wash your comb. Its bristles penetrate well between the teeth of the comb, removing all dirt. It copes especially well with this task when washed in warm water.
