How to bend PVC pipe into any shape
Using this life hack, you can give a polypropylene or PVC pipe almost any shape. Agree that this is not often, but sometimes it is extremely necessary in work. This can also be useful when installing plumbing or water supply systems. Or maybe it will be useful when making homemade products from PVC pipes.
Will need
- Electric or gas stove.
- Metal pan.
- River sand.
- Masking tape.
How to bend a PVC or propylene pipe
The first thing to do is cut and prepare the required length of pipe.
One end is sealed tightly with masking tape.
A metal tray or any other metal utensil is installed on the electric stove.
Sand is poured in and heated.
The sand heats up to 200-250 degrees Celsius. It needs to be stirred to heat evenly.
Using a funnel, pour sand into the pipe. We carry out all operations with gloves to avoid getting burned.
After a minute, the pipe will soften and be ready to take any shape.
To form it, you can use a template, for example, made of cardboard.
We place the pipe in the template and give it the desired size, then wait for the sand to cool. After that, pour it back into the pan.
With this life hack you can get any desired pipe bend.
