How to polish cloudy headlights yourself. Personal experience
Over time, car headlights, unless of course they are glass, gradually become cloudy. Yellowness appears on the surface of the headlights and their light becomes insufficiently bright. Many car repair shops today offer headlight polishing services. However, restoring headlights with your own hands is much cheaper and quite simple.

Do-it-yourself headlight polishing
Let's take the example of polishing car headlights. Polishing is carried out in the following sequence.
Preparation and sanding
Using masking tape, we outline the headlights so that when polishing we do not damage the paintwork of the car.
Then, using paper number 1, which is included in the restorer’s kit, the top layer of plastic is removed from each headlight for 10-15 minutes using circular movements without strong pressure.
When polishing, the headlights should be moistened generously with water.At the same time, you can see how the yellow coating is erased from the headlights.
After the first treatment, the headlight becomes cloudy, but white.
The surface should be washed with plenty of water and wiped dry.
After which you can start polishing with paper No. 2.
Within 10-15 minutes, the headlight is treated with paper No. 2, as a result the plastic becomes less cloudy.
Then all operations are repeated with paper No. 3.
Headlight polishing
It's time for polishing. The polish is applied to the surface of the headlight in an even layer using a plastic spatula.
After a minute's pause, use a dry soft cloth to polish the headlight until the polish is completely rubbed in.
Result
You can compare the condition of the headlights before and after polishing using the photo.
As a result, you need to spend about two hours manually polishing the headlights. The result is worth it.
