Economical long-burning stove for a greenhouse made from a barrel
To heat the greenhouse in spring, when the nights are still cold but there are no severe frosts, you can use a simple long-burning stove made from a barrel. One load of three logs into it is enough to heat for at least 12 hours. Making such a stove is not difficult.
Materials:
- barrel 200 l;
- reinforcement 8 mm;
- steel concentric adapter 108x89 mm;
- chimney pipe 100 mm;
- mounting corners – 4 pcs.;
- metal screws;
- door latch;
- furniture hinges – 2 pcs;
- tin;
- corrugated cardboard.
The stove manufacturing process and features of its ignition
This stove is a barrel with a chimney pipe in the lid and side doors for loading firewood. Inside it there are grate bars composed of two parts on legs. 3 dry logs 50 cm long are installed vertically on them.
A lamp with diesel fuel is placed underneath them, which lights them up.
The result is a so-called “taiga candle” that burns for 12 hours. To ignite the stove, a tin can with a corrugated cardboard wick inserted and fueled with diesel is used.
For the manufacture of stove grates, 8 mm reinforcement is used. 2 arcs bend from it.Frames with jumpers are welded from them. Legs 100 mm high are welded onto the grate.
Together, when docked, they should form a circle with a smaller diameter than the barrel.
A door is cut out at the bottom of the barrel. It is installed on 2 furniture hinges. A valve is provided to close it. The size of the door is taken such that the wheel halves can be inserted inside and assembled together.
An adapter is welded onto the filler neck of the pipe on top. The suture is applied from the inside.
A chimney pipe is installed on top. For its fastening, corners and screws are used.
Such a stove creates a deficiency of oxygen, so combustion occurs moderately. In addition, the small diameter of the filler neck does not contribute to strong draft in the chimney. As a result, the stove burns for a long time and releases heat little by little, without creating sudden temperature fluctuations. This is enough to heat the greenhouse in early spring, even during night frosts.
