How to quickly clean the handles of a gas stove from dirt and dried grease
When caring for a gas stove, we often ignore the handles and the surface underneath them, since they do not get dirty as intensely as the upper part near the burners. As a result, after a while they become very dirty. Even if they have already accumulated old grease and carbon deposits, they can still be easily cleaned in one simple way.
What you will need:
- Soda ash - 3 tbsp. l.;
- ammonia from the pharmacy - 1 tbsp;
- hot water – 1 l.;
- glass cleaner.
Gas stove cleaning process
For high-quality and quick cleaning, the handles must be removed. To do this, they should be pressed in, after which they can be easily removed. If the stove is old, then they may need to be pryed off with a knife. Then the pads underneath are removed.
1 liter of hot water is taken into the container, then 3 tbsp is added. soda ash and 1 tbsp. ammonia.
Handles and pads should be immersed in this solution for 5-10 minutes.It also cleans the grate quite well, so if necessary, you can make a larger quantity to soak it too.
While the dirt on the handles is soaking, you need to clean the greasy surface on the stove. Glass cleaner removes such dirt very well and quickly. You need to spray it on a sponge and then wipe the stove.
Handles soaked in the cleaning solution need to be slightly scrubbed with a toothbrush to completely remove the softened thick layer of fat.
After the solution, it will come off in literally one movement. After this, the handles and pads are rinsed and installed back. Using this method, you can clean the stove to perfection with virtually no effort, and without the risk of scratching the enamel on the stove or the plastic of the handles.
