How to run a wire through a pipe or corrugation without a vacuum cleaner
Usually, use a vacuum cleaner to pull the cable through a long pipe. The method is excellent, but not always applicable, since either the vacuum cleaner itself or electricity may not be available at the construction site. In this case, ingenuity comes to the rescue.
Another method, pulling the cable through a pipe or corrugation, is possible using a magnet.
Will need
- Rope or strong thread.
- Self-tapping screw, bolt or nut.
- Neodymium magnet.
How to run a wire through a pipe or corrugation quickly and without a vacuum cleaner
Take a skein of strong thread.
We tie a small metal object to the end. It's best to use a nut, but if not, a self-tapping screw will do.
We insert a self-tapping screw with a thread into the beginning of the pipe and, using a strong magnet from an old hard drive, draw the thread along the entire pipe.
Once the thread has been drawn along its entire length, a cable is wound to its beginning and threaded into the pipe using the thread.
Unfortunately, this method has its drawbacks: it cannot be used when the pipe is already buried underground. But everything can be done in advance and eliminate this drawback.
The method is worthy of being adopted.
