How to remove a weld seam in a profile pipe
When using profile pipes as a guide for any machine, you have to spend a lot of time trying to remove the internal protruding seam. If the profile is short, then it can be knocked down with a sharp chisel or polished with a file, but on long workpieces this is almost impossible. For them you need to make a special device.
Will need
To make this device you will need:
- square turning cutter;
- profile pipe;
- stud with powerful thread;
- a pair of nuts.
Tool for stripping seams in square profile pipes
It is necessary to prepare a piece of pipe that fits tightly inside the profile in which you need to clean the seam. The workpiece is tried on and a mark is placed on it opposite the seam of the outer pipe. Opposite the marks, a cut is made to install the turning tool.
The cut cuts are bent.
The cutter itself is shortened so that when entering the pipe being processed, it can cut its end into its seam.
To do this, it is sharpened at a right angle.
The end of the sawn tube opposite to the cutter is welded with an insert. An offset hole is made in that one, and a nut is welded onto it.
To use the device, you need to clean the edge of the seam on the workpiece with a chisel. Then a tube with a cutter is inserted into it.
On the back side of the workpiece, a pin with a stop is inserted and screwed into the nut on the plug.
The inner tube is lubricated with oil. Then, by tightening the pin, you need to drive the sliding part through the workpiece. The incisor advancing at the same time will remove the seam.
