How to connect PET tape with a soldering iron
By unraveling a PET bottle with a bottle cutter, you can get a long ribbon. But sometimes its length is enough. In this case, you can connect several short pieces using a soldering iron.
What you will need:
- Stationery binder;
- soldering iron with a thin tip or awl.
The process of connecting tape with a soldering iron
The ends of the tapes must be overlapped together. To keep them in place, you can secure them with a binder on the side along the edge.
Now take a soldering iron with a thin tip or a heated awl, and burn a hole in the double part of the tape.
The melted plastic is glued together, giving a strong attachment.
We make such perforations in at least two places, and the connection is ready.
