How to easily clean hob grates from days-long deposits

The eternal headache of bringing them to shine? I have my own recipe for how to do this quickly, without any expensive or specially advertised means.

I don’t presume to say that it is suitable for all types of grates, but for cast iron, in my opinion, it is an ideal option.

How and what to do

I place the grates in a large bag, particularly for garbage. I pour 50 ml of ammonia inside.

I pack it hermetically.

I leave it alone for a day, placing, for example, a thick cloth under it, so as not to damage the table surface if droplets of liquid leak through. Then, putting on gloves, I get rid of the carbon deposits without difficulty either with my hands or with a knife.

I wash the grates.

Dry on a clean cloth. And I return it to the hob.
