Dream like a fairy tale
Sleep is an important part of our life. The time we spend relaxing should be calm and pleasant so that we have enough time to fully restore our strength. For a sound and comfortable sleep, there is such a convenient thing as a blindfold. It helps your eyes relax as much as possible and hides them from any light, even if you are sleeping during the day. You can make such a mask with your own hands, and today I will tell you how.
For one mask you need:
- a small skein of black and, in my case, pink yarn. I wanted to give the mask a bit of a childish feel.
- a wide elastic band, a small piece of a single color or the same color as the yarn.
- a hook suitable for the thickness of the yarn.
- needle and thread for sewing.
We start with a chain of six air loops, the seventh loop will be a lifting loop and a transition to the second row.
Each new row must be knitted with the addition of one new column from the sides. I decided to knit this mask with double crochets, but you can choose any other pattern you like. The main thing here is that the pattern allows you to maintain the required shape of the mask.
When the expansion reaches approximately 10 cm, apply the cloth to your eye if you feel comfortable and it covers your eye tightly. It can no longer be expanded. Work two or three rows without any extensions and begin narrowing the rows to create a notch for the nose. We narrow it in almost the same way as we expand it, only instead of an additional loop in the bottom column, we skip a whole column. This must be done on both sides of two new rows, and then only on the side where the nose will be.
Periodically apply half of the mask to your face and measure how much more you need to tie up to your nose. Otherwise, the mask may turn out to be either too wide or narrow. When half of the mask covers your temple, upper cheekbone and half of the bridge of your nose, you can stop narrowing.
The second half is knitted mirror the first. That is, first we expand the fabric, then we knit two or three rows even to the last one and narrow it to the required size.
We make “ears” on the sides of the mask, which will be fastened to each other with an elastic band to make the mask easier to put on.
Now let's do it decor for our mask to make it more fun and interesting. Take black yarn and knit a chain of 12 chain stitches.
We unfold the chain and tie it by tying out the “eyelashes”.
We make two such “sleeping” eyes and sew them onto the mask.
This is what happened.
In such a soft and gentle mask, your sleep will be calm and your dreams will be fabulous.
