Women's mittens with a Norwegian star
To work you will need:
1. set of knitting needles of 5 pieces, size No. 3, do not choose long models. For knitting mittens, medium length is considered the best option.
2. a special knitting pin (it is better if it is also No. 3; options No. 2.5, 3.5 and even 4 will not spoil the product).
3. Alize Classic knitting threads made in Turkey. Composition: 51% acrylic and 49% wool. This is quite enough for single-row mittens, suitable for keeping warm at temperatures down to -10 degrees, or for active sports (skiing, skating, etc.). Weight 100 grams, length of thread in a skein 390 meters. By purchasing threads of three colors (in our case: black, white and red), you can safely count on 5 pairs of mittens (3 pairs for men and 2 pairs for women) with different patterns (you should alternate the primary colors in each pair).
4. hook No. 3 (only needed to remove the ends of the threads covering the product itself and the finger).
Set of loops:
For women's mittens (approximate size 7), cast on 52 stitches using black thread on 2 knitting needles.

We leave the cast-on loops on 1 knitting needle, and simply remove the second one.Next we distribute 13 loops onto 4 knitting needles. Knitting We start by connecting the first and fourth needles. Thus, from the loops distributed on 4 knitting needles, an equilateral well is obtained.
Rubber:
From the first row, we begin knitting an elastic band by dividing all the loops into a 2x2 pattern (2 purl x 2 knit). It is more convenient to start a row with facial loops. The rib is knitted in 30 rows at medium knitting density. At this density, the height of the elastic band should be 7.5 cm.
Main part:
The transition from the elastic to the main part is carried out without adding loops or changing color. All 52 loops remain in work. Knitting continues only with facial loops. The height of the black repeat is 10 rows, which corresponds to 2 cm.
Base of finger:
At a level of 3.5 cm (about 15 rows), 9 loops are strung on a pin. Above them, 9 loops are cast on the fifth knitting needle, which continue knitting this row. Thus, all 43 loops of the main part and 9 newly cast on loops are connected into a well.

Ornament:
Further knitting continues with the Norwegian star pattern. The entire pattern is performed only with facial loops.

Closing the product:
2 loops are knitted together, 1 knit, 2 together again, then 27 knit, 2 together, 1 knit, 2 together. Where 2 are knitted together, each time it is necessary to close 2 loops again in a new row. This creates a double braid, which is knitted until there are 4 loops remaining. 4 loops close the entire product.

Finger knitting:
9 loops are removed from the pin onto a knitting needle, and another 9 loops are cast on with a second knitting needle (from those cast on earlier). The finger is knitted with knit stitches using black thread for 22 rows. We close, starting the calculation: 2 together, knit, 2 together, 7 knit.
