Hat for a newborn girl
Behind are the exciting moments of discharge from the maternity hospital, flowers, congratulations. And now your happiness is snoring peacefully in the crib, and mom is choosing a wardrobe for the little princess. Stores are overflowing with offers for every taste, but how much more pleasant it is to create something exclusive with your own hands, putting your love into the product. For those who are familiar with knitting and crocheting, it will not be difficult to knit such a cute hat for a girl.
To work you will need:
- Pink silk yarn (50g) for the hat and dark pink (20g) for finishing;
- white beads for the centers of flowers;
- circular knitting needles, 2 double-sided, hook (according to the thickness of the yarn), needle with a large eye.
We cast on 64 loops on knitting needles with fishing line (in this case, knitting needles No. 1.9) and knit the 1st row with facial loops. Next, we knit 6 rows with a simple 1 by 1 rib and switch to stockinette stitch (in stockinette stitch).
Having knitted 10 cm, we divide the work into 3 equal parts: we knit the first part on an additional knitting needle, at the same time we knit together the last loop in the row of the first part with the first loop of the second (middle) part and the last loop in the row of the second part with the edge loop of the third part. The middle part remains on the main knitting needles, and the third is transferred to the additional one.
We continue to knit the middle, knitting two loops together at the beginning and at the end of the front rows (we take one loop from the middle part and one from the side ones).
In each 4th purl row, we make 5 decreases on both sides in the central part of the cap, knitting 2 loops together with the purl - this will create a decrease towards the back of the head. Close off the remaining middle loops.
We crochet the bottom of the hat around the perimeter. with 1 double crochet.
Using dark pink yarn we knit ruffles around the perimeter of the cap at the level of the back of the head: in 1 loop we knit a scallop (1 tbsp. s/n, 1 tbsp. with the 2nd nak., 1 tbsp. with the 3rd nak., 1 tbsp. with 2nd nak., 1 tbsp. s/n), skip 1.
Separately, we knit a dark pink chain from air. loops 35 cm long and threaded between the posts of the strapping. We embroider 5-petal flowers using a loop-to-attach stitch and sew white beads into the centers.
