We install a collector heating system

The collector system is remarkable in that it is universal; its installation is carried out by people without professional skills. Moreover, such a system allows you to install heating with hidden pipe wiring.

For economic reasons, the cross-section of pipes must be chosen as small as possible, but on the verge of functioning. The cross-section of the collectors themselves should also be small, since all these obstacles can impede circulation, which can increase the hydraulic resistance of the entire system. Such a system cannot be done without a circulation pump, since the coolant must be forced to move. This makes the collector system dependent on electricity and also reduces its vitality.

Heating system installation.

1. In this private house, a floor-standing gas boiler is installed in the basement. The boiler is installed on a concrete screed five centimeters thick.

2. We install metal pipes with a diameter of 32 mm to the “supply” and “return” of the boiler.

3. We install a closed expansion tank on the “supply” pipe.

4. Next, install a manifold on the “supply” pipe.

5.We install a circulation pump on the return pipe.

6. Taps must be installed on both sides of the pump. This is necessary for convenient replacement of the pump if it fails. In this case, you do not have to drain the coolant.

7. We install a tap on the return pipe through which the system will be recharged.

8. We also install a collector to the return pipe.

9. In the basement it is not necessary to install it in a special cabinet, so in this case the collectors are fixed to a metal corner.

10. All collector outlets have built-in taps that allow you to turn off an individual radiator.

11. Radial distribution in the basement is made along the ceiling. In this case, metal pipes are used.

12. The connections of the heating rays to the collectors are made using a metal-plastic pipe.

13. Holes are drilled in the floor slabs through which the pipes are connected directly to the heating device.

14. A metal-plastic pipe was also used to connect the radiators to the heating beams.

I have been using the collector heating system for two years now. There have been no serious operational disruptions so far.

A simple block diagram would be much more informative than an incomprehensible set of photos.

ABOUT! They gave me an idea)))
My house was built “without communications”. On stilts.
Your “radial” scheme, and UNDER the house, is what you need!

The big question is why metal pipes? to change after 5 years and paint.

A good scheme with collectors, I would add thermometers (on Ali, they cost 50 rubles) for each battery and you don’t need to run around setting them up, everything is here!!

It is better to install the pump on the supply side - it is high-temperature and does not load the boiler with pressure. After the pump there is a check valve for a smooth start of the system and thermomanometers on the manifolds to control temperature and pressure conditions. On the supply side there is a check valve. If the pressure in the water supply system is less than the heating pressure, the pump heating system will squeeze water out of the heating system into the water supply. A coarse filter is needed on the return line, given the heterogeneity of the system. An expansion tank with a shut-off and drain valve, otherwise if the system contains a non-freezing liquid such as freetherm, you will drain the entire system when replacing the tank. level of performance - collective farm. another year - After two uses, a good knock will come out. Water will find a hole. This is from 25 years of installation and service experience since the beginning of the appearance of such equipment.

Place the EXPANSION TANK on the return and not on the supply. Equip the radiators with thermal valves with thermal heads to save thermal energy. And you also need a safety valve against excess pressure in the system. If you dig deeper, it would be nice to have a hydraulic separator and automatic switching on of the pump and boiler together as the system cools down .but nothing will happen.

There were a lot of violations: 1-Make-up is always installed at the supply, this will protect the boiler from sudden temperature changes, which is not acceptable for many boilers. By installing it this way, you will lose the manufacturer’s warranty. 2-the pump must have a strainer and accept coolant after it. 3-Press nuts tend to weaken over time due to temperature changes and require tightening, replace them with press fittings for press pliers. 4-Each radiator should have faucets with an American connection; in case of repairs, there is no need to stop the entire heating system, but only one device.5-The use of threaded connections in places where it is not possible to service them is not permissible - replace them with a welding seam. 6- The expansion tank can stand on the return line where it will last longer without being subject to heat. 7- There is no mention of a safety group that monitors the system by temperature and pressure. It is criminal to give such incorrect advice to people who will believe you and do everything differently than you advised. It will be useful for someone to read this.
