Legend of one river
Well-illustrated and interesting books are bought by parents for their children. Children look forward to reading bedtime stories every day. The fairy tale takes you to unknown distances, talks about long-past events, introduces you to interesting characters, teaches goodness and how to defeat evil.
But a fairy tale, a legend invented together with parents is a double holiday. After all, a child puts his little worldly experience into creating a legend, draws conclusions, and endows the characters with courage, kindness, wisdom and beauty.
A fairy tale, a legend, embodied in a real book, made by the hands of the mother, will allow the child to be proud of working together with his parents. He will carefully leaf through the pages of the book, on the creation of which he spent more than one evening. This book would be a good gift for a friend's birthday.
Try making a book “The Legend of a River”, which will immerse your child in the mythical past. Step-by-step instructions will help you quickly complete the task and show your publishing creativity.
For work we will need a folder, a lot of beads, shells, a skein of thread, glue, scissors, marine-themed fabric, files, twigs of dried plants, paper, penny coins. In short, everything that is connected with the theme of the sea and river.
We wrap the folder on all sides with fabric with marine motifs. Secure with glue or thread.
We drape the fabric a little, imitating a river wave.
Next comes the cover decoration. At the bottom we glue small shells, pearl beads, branches from ornamental plants onto PVA glue, imitating a river or sea bottom.
Place the legend text on the left page. We decorate the sheet with paper with various patterns, illustrations, small shell rock glued with PVA.
On the right page we place the figure of the greedy Nile. You can draw it, cut it out of magazines. Slaves near the Nile are drawn figures. We decorate clothes with shiny fabric near the Nile and simple bandages among the slaves. Denoting the greed of the Nile, we place many coins in the upper right and lower left corners. To create a landscape, we glue dry thuja branches, foliage, etc.
On the left we place the text of the legend.
To depict unprecedented animals and birds, and human figures, we use cut out figures from old magazines. We will depict the lush vegetation of that time using dry branches of various herbs glued to PVA. The palm tree is cut out of paper, the crown is made of thuja branches. The sun and cloud are made from threads wound on cardboard and glued with PVA. The sun's rays are made of straw. The flowers are made of corrugated paper, folded several times. Therefore, the image turns out three-dimensional.
On the left page there is a continuation of the legend text.
We depict angry gods. The figures of Zeus and Neptune are drawn. You can cut out illustrations from magazines. Zeus's beard made of cotton wool. On the head is a laurel wreath made of thuja branches. Rich clothes can be made from brocade fabric, braid with trim. Neptune's trident, tail and bracelets are made of beads of different colors. We glue the beads onto paper coated with PVA, simply scattering them inside the outline and lightly pressing with a finger for quick gluing. Below, at the feet of the gods, we place the figure of the greedy Nile in simpler clothes.
We show the richness of the seabed or river on the fabric used to decorate the cover of the book. We glue small shells in unlimited quantities. For the body of a turtle, dolphin, starfish we use multi-colored beads. We edge the page with a paper pattern at our discretion. In our case, it is a decorative element for wallpaper.
On the left are the last lines of the legend text.
Another image of the seabed. Multi-colored fish cut out of paper are frolicking near the stone. Pasted dry twigs and shells create the impression of lush vegetation on the seabed.
This is how the book turned out.
I would like to note that joint creativity with a child develops his speech, imagination, and memory. Making a book develops fine motor skills, enriches a child’s vocabulary and horizons. And most importantly, you become closer to your baby. And there is nothing more valuable in the world than a friendly creative family. I wish you success!
