Palm tree made from plastic bottles
School of practical people. Master class on making a beautiful and beautiful palm tree with your own hands from plastic bottles.
New technologies and innovations bring a lot of good things into people's lives, making them easier and more beautiful. But with this new thing, something bad also comes into our lives.
A plastic bottle is an example of the above. This thing was developed in 1941. The plastic bottle has taken the whole world by storm. She is extremely popular for a number of her positive qualities:
- cheap material,
- very technologically advanced
- ease of operation,
- can be reused for household purposes.
Unfortunately, the plastic bottle also brought bad moments:
- decomposition period under natural conditions is more than 100 years,
- During decomposition and combustion, hazardous and harmful substances are released.
Over the past summer season, our family has accumulated a lot of plastic bottles. In the fall, they began to think about where to throw them, how to take them to a landfill. The youngest daughter came up with a brilliant idea to leave the plastic bottles at home and make something beautiful and original.
Everyone liked my daughter's idea. We looked at a lot of crafts on the Internet. We settled on the idea of making a palm tree.
Stage No. 1
Collect as many plastic bottles as possible. The color is green (from under Sprite). The color is dark brown (from Kvass or Beer). Huge quantities are needed. Immediately ask neighbors and friends for help. They will certainly help you in difficult endeavors.
Stage No. 2
Think carefully about what height and size your palm trees will be, how many palm trees there will be, and where you will install them.
We personally first make one tall palm tree.
Stage No. 3
We tear off all stickers and product labels. Gently rinse dirty plastic bottles in hot water.
Stage No. 4
We sort plastic bottles. This will make it easier and more comfortable to work. We start with brown bottles. Let's put the green ones aside, don't let them interfere. We'll use them a little later.
Stage No. 5
Let's start making a powerful and reliable barrel. We take plastic brown bottles. Carefully cut off the bottoms of the bottles. Then take a drill with an attachment. We make holes on a hard surface in the center of the bottoms. We take the fittings. We string the blanks onto the reinforcement one by one.
Stage No. 6
We bring green bottles from the warehouse. We will use them to make the leaves of our exotic palm tree. For this procedure we will need sharp scissors and a knife. Carefully cut off the bottom of the plastic bottle. Throw it away. Cut the remaining part into long strips.
Stage No. 7
We mount and securely fasten the workpieces to iron fittings. The length of the fittings depends on the number of bottles and the size of the palm tree.
Stage No. 9
The final stage. We reliably install all structural elements. We securely fasten the iron fittings to each other. We invited our neighbor, a welder. Five minutes of work. Here she is. Our beautiful palm tree. We reliably install the finished structure. Pour cement mortar into the hole, install the palm tree, and secure it with twine.
Our family decided that three gorgeous palm trees would soon grow in front of our house. We visit the Bahamas all year round. See photo No. 8. Our palm trees delight all our neighbors, make them stop all pedestrians and drivers, take pictures of the beauty and tell their friends about the miracle!!!
