Autumn card
To make such a card you don’t even need scrapbooking paper, we’ll do everything ourselves and have a lot of fun!
Materials needed for work:
- Base for a postcard (thick paper, cardboard, whatman paper),
- A small (about 8x8 cm) piece of cardboard,
- Gifts of nature: twigs, dried flowers, petals and leaves - everything you can find,
- Unnecessary sponge,
- A pen, pencil or stick on which you can attach a piece of sponge,
- Stationery knife,
- Scotch,
- Scissors,
- Ribbons, ribbons or other decorations,
- Paints,
- Glue.
Let's get started. First, let's prepare a stencil, with which we can easily create an excellent background for a postcard. We take a piece of cardboard (about 8x8 cm) and draw a silhouette of a bird on it (or something else, your imagination will tell you). You should not draw intricate figures with many details, as this will complicate the cutting process, and in the end, the smallest details will not be visible anyway. The best option would be a simple, concise and easily recognizable silhouette.
Next, placing an oilcloth or a stack of unnecessary paper, we cut out the figure. We should cut it clearly along the drawn line, because we will need both the inner part and the outer part.
Next, we’ll make an improvised “brush” with which we’ll paint the background. To do this, cut out a small piece from the sponge and use tape to attach it to a pen, pencil or stick.
Now let's take the inside of the template, apply it to the base for the card and begin to outline it with paint. We do this several times, filling all the space with figures and painting over the empty spaces between the silhouettes.
When this step is completed, move on to the next one. We take the outer part of the template and draw the silhouette in the same way.
The result is a unique background for a postcard.
The last stage is decoration. Here, give free rein to your imagination, abandoning any templates!
Good luck in your creativity and inspiration!
