Casket - a case for storing small items

Hello, dear site visitors. Today I present to you an original box - a case for storing small items, which can be made by hand from simple scrap materials. You can put items such as silver or gold chains, pendants, beads or beads, and small decorative items for handicrafts in it. But, in addition, you can store earrings and rings there.



To make such a case you will need:
1). Fabric (I took the inner fabric of a dark red color from my old jacket) for sewing the outside and fabric of a different (orange) shade for the inside;
2). Cardboard paper;
3). Scissors, threads of suitable colors, needle;
4). Cotton wool or batting;
5). Lightning;
6). Beads, beads or a piece of fabric of a different color (to create a small decoration on top).
7) Glue, colored paper, compass.



First, we cut out two identical very large round shapes from cardboard, drawing them with a compass. However, inside each of these circles you need to draw another circle, one third smaller in size than the main figures.Pin one of these circles to the fabric prepared for sewing the two outer sides and folded in two, cut out along the contour of the part. After this, cutting the cardboard sample along the circle drawn inside, also make two parts from the fabric prepared for sewing the inside:



Now we sew the details of the outer sides with cardboard circles:



Having barely completed it, we fill the free space between them with cotton wool, and then sew it up:




We sew the orange parts to the side where the cardboard is, trying to make sure that the fabric is stretched evenly and smoothly:



Next we start sewing on the zipper. First, I decided to combine the two most suitable colors for the box into one:




But the closing device then jumped out of the zipper and could not go back in, which is why it had to be replaced:



Having sewn the zipper completely, we take a small piece of fabric to sew up the empty side section in which there is no zipper at the back.
Sew on this piece of fabric (if desired, you can decorate it with beads):




Then we take a small piece of orange fabric, and, having rolled it up, sew it on the back and sides, after which we bend the sides back (so that the seam is not visible from the front). Next, we sew it to the depth of the case along with several beads on the sides:



We cut out two “rings” for the frame from satin colored paper and mark even circles along the radius of each - bending lines - so that the distance between these circles and the sides cut off at the top and bottom is equal. Then we cut with scissors from the center to the intended bend line:



Bend the cut ends down and glue:



Glue both frames to the inside of the case:



Next, take a thread and string beads or beads onto it:




Sew to the back of the case:




Now let's make the decoration.It can be made either from beads, simply sewing them on, or made in the form of a flower sewn from fabric.
To sew a flower, take a long rectangular piece of fabric and, sewing seams on three sides, twist it:




To make a decoration from beads, select the appropriate size ones and sew them on:




We choose one of these decorations that we like best.
And that’s it, our little box is ready. Its main difference from deep boxes is that it is difficult to lose any small item in it.
