Coffee toy “Fishing Cat”
The souvenir toy is made of fabric. Additionally soaked in coffee and vanilla. It is small in size and serves as a flavor pendant.
For work we will prepare the following:
- white fabric of dense weave.
- regular graphite pencil.
- instant coffee.
-PVA glue.
- a pin with a round head.
- black handle.
- acrylic paint in white and brown tones.
- fabric scissors.
- needle with white thread.
- any filler for products.
- sewing machine.
- thin cord.
- a packet of vanilla.
- paint brush.
- pen and paper.
Before starting work, draw the shape of the future cat on paper. Separately add the paw and fish. We outline the belly and muzzle of the fishing cat.
Cut out templates from paper. Fold the fabric into two folds and trace it with a pencil.
We cut out pieces from the fabric with seam allowances. Using a sewing machine, we sew a line along the contours of the toy. But don’t forget to leave a section for filling and sewing in an additional paw. Then, on all the bends in the toy blank, we make cuts in the fabric with scissors, without touching the seam. This will allow you to turn the cat blank well.
When turning, we help with a pencil and a needle. Now we take the finished separate paw and insert it into the upper unsewn segment. And with a needle and thread we sew up this paw through a large segment.
When everything is ready, take the filler.
Through a large segment we will fill the sewn blank. We seal all the small parts well.
Then use a pin to press the free paw to the stomach.
Now we use a needle to sew up the hole we don’t need. When everything is ready, with a pencil we draw all the contours of the belly and muzzle of our fisherman.
It's time for the coffee treatment. On the ear we make a loop of thread for hanging using a needle. Now take a tablespoon of instant coffee into any container, add the same amount of PVA glue and a pack of vanillin. And fill it all with 100 ml of hot water, stir thoroughly. The coffee solution is ready and using a brush we paint the entire toy well.
Hang it by a thread loop to dry in a warm place for 1 hour. In the meantime, let's take care of the fish. Using a paper template, cut out three identical fabric fish.
Then, using glue, we connect them well to each other.
When the glue has dried, take a gel pen and draw the eyes and scales of the fish.
But it will also need to be painted over with a coffee solution and given time to dry.
And we will return to the dried up cat. We correct all fuzzy contours with a pencil. And paint the seams with a brush and brown acrylic paint. Add a little stripes along the body.
And then we trace all the contours again, but with a black gel pen.
Now we take white paint, which we will use to paint the eyes and tummy of the cat.
When the toy is dry, take the pen again and draw the pupils of the eyes, nose, belly button and claws.
We secure the dried fish in a paw with a pin.
And at the end of the work, we cut off the thread for drying, and in the same place we attach a loop from a thin cord for hanging the souvenir. And between the fisherman’s ears we attach a piece of fur. The coffee souvenir toy is ready.
Instead of a fish, you can draw a skeleton with bones on the tummy.
Good luck to all!
