Mom's treasures for a little girl
Every mother at the birth of her baby is left with many memorable little things that remain as a keepsake and that need to be preserved. Be sure to leave a commemorative tag from the maternity hospital. Then, when the baby grows, his first lock of hair is cut off, then a tooth falls out, his favorite pacifier and other little things remain. All these are such trifles, which then, many years later, can be taken out and admired by both the mother herself and shown to her adult child. So we are talking about the need for a special box in which these things will be stored. Today we will make such a box using technology scrapbooking.
For the master class on making a box you need to take:
• Binding cardboard measuring 15*15 cm, two blanks and one size 6.5*15 cm;
• Sintepon;
• Sketches for cutting out boxes;
• Watercolor paper, A1 format, cut to the required sizes;
• Floral and pink cotton fabric with a white bow;
• Children's scrapbooking paper in pink and light pink tones;
• Round pictures with Mi the bunny and with inscriptions;
• Card with the inscription “Mom’s treasures”;
• Card with metrics;
• Cutting out a bunny and pink flags;
• Curb punchers;
• The circle is white with openwork edges;
• Light pink ribbon with pompoms;
• Paper roses, white and pink;
• Fabric pink flowers;
• Half beads pink and white;
• Metal pendants: tooth, clothespin, stroller, scissors;
• Peach organza ribbon 10 mm wide;
• Acrylic pink flowers buttons;
• Pink cotton lace;
• Colored printed tags: tooth, curl, tag and pacifier;
• Wide pink satin ribbon, width 25 mm;
• Glue with the effect of double-sided tape;
• Scissors, ruler, pencil, double-sided tape;
• Glue stick and heat gun;
• Sewing machine.
So, there is a lot of work to be done, so let’s get started and start with making the soft cover. We take binding cardboard, lay out all three parts tightly next to each other and cut out two strips of 3*15 cm from watercolor paper. We divide both of them in half.
Now we glue both of them with a glue stick onto the joints of the cardboard, thus gluing them together.
We turn the cover over and now measure out a sheet of padding polyester. We glue it to the cover with pieces of double-sided tape.
Now we cut the fabric. We will have pink with bows around the edges, and floral inside. Don’t forget to reserve at least 2 cm for the hem.
We iron the fabric thoroughly with an iron and sew it together, sewing pink lace onto the joints. Now we turn the fabric over, put a cardboard cover and glue the fabric to the cover with a glue stick.
Now cut a strip of wide pink tape and glue it in the center from the inside of the cover.
We wrap the cover and try on cards and inscriptions.We sew the cover along the edges of the front side and each card. Now we cut out a 14.8*25 cm piece from a large sheet of scrap paper.
We glue it inside our cover with glue with the effect of double-sided tape and put it under a press for 1-1.5 hours. In the meantime, let's take care of the inner large box and the small ones.
According to the diagrams, we cut out a large blank.
And these are for small boxes. We smear the tabs with a glue stick and glue the small box together. So we make 4 small boxes and 4 lids.
From small sheets of scrap paper we cut out four 6.5*6.5 cm squares for the lids and one 14*14 cm for the bottom of the large box. We glue the scrap blanks onto the watercolor ones with strips of tape and sew them on with a machine.
We glue the large box along the tabs.
Now we cut strips from the border sheet, punch holes on both sides with a lace hole punch and glue first a strip of lace onto the sides of a large box, then a lace strip of paper.
We also glue the lids of small boxes.
Now glue the bottom (large box) to the cover, smooth it out well and press lightly.
Now we glue tags with inscriptions and bows with pendants onto small boxes.
All that remains is to decorate the cover and glue the card and cuttings inside.
We glue decor heat gun and you're done!
The result is such a beautiful, bright, and most importantly necessary and memorable box for children's little things. Thank you for your attention!
