Heart shaped box
If you often use tape, then you have noticed the paper spool that is inside. Usually, when the tape runs out, the paper part goes into the trash. But real needlewomen never throw anything away and skillfully turn things that are unnecessary at first glance into very necessary ones.
Today you will learn how to make a box from two reels of tape in the shape of a heart. It'll be wonderful present for a friend or daughter on Valentine's Day, February 14th.
For work you will need the following components:
First, select two rolls of tape that are the same size and thickness.
Using strong scissors or a utility knife, cut the paper rings anywhere you want.
Using a heat gun, glue the pieces into a heart shape. Make sure that both parts are symmetrical.
Now cut out 2 flat hearts from thick cardboard - this will be the bottom and lid of the future box. Place the heart on the cardboard and trace its outline.
These are the 2 cardboard hearts you should end up with.
Cover them with your favorite wallpaper. You can use fabric, colored paper, wrapping paper or crepe paper.
Place a cardboard heart coated with PVA glue on the reverse side of the wallpaper and cut it out using an allowance. Fold the remaining edges to the wrong side.
Then cut out the heart from the wallpaper to the desired size and glue it on the wrong side.
You should get blanks: bottom and lid.
Now proceed to wallpapering the side part of the reels. Cut a wide strip and glue it with PVA glue along the entire perimeter of the volumetric heart.
Tuck the protruding edges of the wallpaper into the middle of the base and secure with glue.
Cut a thin strip of wallpaper and glue it into the middle of the 3D heart.
This is what the middle part of the future box looks like.
Now start assembling the parts. At this stage, a heat gun is used.
To secure the lid, you need to glue a piece of tape to the lid and to the edge of the middle part. Cover the tape with pieces of wallpaper.
The lid can now open and close freely.
Secure the bottom of the box with a heat gun.
All that remains is to decorate the craft. Glue tape to match the wallpaper on the top and bottom of the side.
Place an openwork white ribbon with red and beige knitted flowers on the lid.
This is what an open box looks like.
And this is her closed view.
Decor Select boxes at your discretion. These could be, for example, flowers made of fabric, crepe paper, satin ribbons or foamiran.
In such a convenient box you can store jewelry, handicraft materials, small parts (buttons, pins) or stationery.
If you place the box in the kitchen, it can be useful for serving sweets or storing spices.
