Anti-corrosion coating of the knife
Everyone knows very well that almost any carbon steel is susceptible to corrosion to one degree or another. And if you made a knife with your own hands, sooner or later traces of rust will appear on it. Moreover, you don’t even need to use the knife and it will rust anyway. I'll tell you how to avoid this and make a simple anti-corrosion coating for a knife of your own making.
Tools and materials
You will need:
Pour the required amount of vinegar into a boiling pan. We put it on the stove. And while the vinegar comes to a boil, take alcohol and paper towels. We wet the towel with alcohol and wipe the knife blade, thereby removing dirt and degreasing it.
Carry out all work in a well-ventilated area.
After the vinegar boils, pour it into a cup. Then place the carbon steel blade into this cup. After some time, gas bubbles will appear on the knife blade. The entire procedure may take you from 10 to 20 minutes. After this time, remove the knife and wipe with a paper towel.
Your anti-corrosion coating is ready. It is not eternal and will wear off over time. Should be enough for a couple of years somewhere. And if it suddenly gets completely erased, no one is stopping you from repeating this procedure again.
