How to make a child's palm print as a keepsake
Do you dream of making a hand or foot print of your child as a souvenir? This has gained a lot of popularity lately, and ready-made commercial kits help make prints effortless.
But at home you can repeat something similar from ordinary salt dough.
Materials
What you will need:
- Wheat flour - 1 tbsp.
- Salt - 0.5 tbsp.
- Water - about 0.5 tbsp.
- As well as foil (or baking parchment) and a rolling pin.
Making a cast for a long lasting memory
Mix salt and flour, add water little by little until the consistency of elastic dough.
Roll out the dough into a layer about 1-1.5 cm thick on a sheet of foil or parchment.
If the baby is no longer very small, he can participate in this process. Tip: If the rolling pin sticks too much to the dough, wet it with water. Then press your baby's hand or foot into the rolled out dough.
You can use a toothpick to stamp a name and date into a dotted pattern on the side.
Leave to dry in a place out of direct sunlight for 2 weeks. Once the prints are completely dry and hardened, they can be varnished.
